Taking a microbiotic supplement can support gastrointestinal function by helping to increase beneficial gut flora. The synthesis of certain nutrients in the gut (
e.g.
vitamins B12 and K) is assisted by microbiota. They also aid digestion and play an integral role in immune health, helping to colonise the gut, producing a barrier effect against other, harmful strains of bacteria, reducing their growth.
